What is Redact?

Redact is the name of the Fall 2012 issue of Digital Americana Magazine. It is available for iPad, iPhone, and Print-on-Demand. This was the first iPad issue to feature built in tools to create erasure poetry by means of redaction.

Digital Americana was designed from the ground up with the intention to allow the user to create their own digital visual poetry. Using your iPad you can now turn on Redact and instantly create and share your redactions from any page of the issue.

Redact comes from the tradition of "Erasure," which is a form of visual poetry, where by removing or redacting text from a document you can come up with something original and transformative.
